Mr. Browne brings more than 25 years of experience in military, government and commercial satellite operations to his role as President, Government Business Unit at OneWeb. He is responsible for market development, business strategy and sales of OneWeb's Connectivity and Hosted Payload solutions for the US Government, NATO and Five Eyes partners. In his prior role as Chief Operating Officer at COMSAT Inc. he was responsible for both the day to day business strategy of COMSAT's U.S. and International Mil/Gov programs and the development of new services and markets such as COMSAT's re-entry into the commercial Maritime sector leveraging the company value added platforms for IoT telematics and crew welfare services. Prior to his role at COMSAT, he was Chief Commercial Officer of the U.S. office of Airbus Defense and Space and Vice President Business Development and Marketing at Airbus headquarters managing business development for European MILSATCOM programs, which included the UK Ministry of Defense's Skynet-5 contract, which delivers strategic and tactical SATCOM capabilities in a unique Private Financial Initiative framework valued at over $5B. Mr. Browne joined the AIRBUS group in 2006 when he sold his company, London Satellite Exchange, building the cornerstone of the group's COMSATCOM capability and growth strategy. Prior to his roles at Airbus, he held a number of systems engineering posts including a four year assignment at the European Space Agency for the launch and operations of the ERS and Envisat missions. Mr. Browne holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oxford Brooks University, a Master of Science from University College North Wales, and an MBA from London Business School.
